9/11 – A Tale of Two Presidents

9/11 – A Tale of Two Presidents

OK. I admit, we don’t know exactly what happened in Benghazi on the long night of 9/11/12.   What we do know is that four were killed, and that many more would have been killed if not for our brave SEALs. President Obama and Hillary Clinton have both claimed responsibility; and both have avoided blame. As it turns out, President Obama is responsible for both this debacle and its well-documented cover-up. Analysis over the last eight weeks leaves little doubt of this. Some say this conclusion is politically-motivated.  As one Internet troll put it, rudely but succinctly, “It’s not a political issue, Bozo. Did you blame Bush for WTC?” Well, I may be biased against President Obama, reasonably I think given his record, so let me compare President Obama’s performance with how I believe President Bush would have performed based on what I know of his time as Commander-in-Chief. To begin with, Bush would not have left the Benghazi compound undefended after requests were made for its protection....

Where Are The Pictures From The Situation Room This Time?

Where Are The Pictures From The Situation Room This Time?

I’ve had it up to here with president Obama’s spiking the football, on a decision in giving the go orders to kill Bin Laden, that any other president in the position that Obama was in would have made.   First of all, let’s get one thing straight President Obama, you didn’t get anybody.  President Obama, your call was not courageous nor heroic: it was the Navy SEALs, and the Navy SEALs alone that showed courage and heroism.  It was the Navy SEALs and the Navy SEALs alone that “got” Bin Laden. President Obama couldn’t wait to show the American people and the world the pictures in the situation room in the White House when he and his advisers were watching in real time the actions of the Navy SEALs in their raid that ended the life of the evil terrorist.   These were the pictures he put out to show his “guts” in making the call.  His spokesmen said that it was a gutsy call because the raid could...

Starship Troopers and US Elections

Starship Troopers and US Elections

Robert Heinlein wrote the controversial Starship Troopers in 1959 at the height of the Cold War. The novel’s action centers around a war of survival between mankind and an extraterrestrial bug-like species bent on galactic conquest. What set this novel apart from other Sci-Fi genre novels was the underlying moral and political lessons Heinlein was teaching. These lessons are as fresh today as they were when we faced the threat of nuclear annihilation. And like much of Science Fiction, Starship Troopers is a cautiously optimistic novel. The central theme of Starship Troopers was what it meant to be a “citizen.” In Heinlein’s world, suffrage was not based on wealth (i.e. land ownership, 1%, etc.), or intellectual status (e.g. intelligentsia, education, etc.). These and other models had been tried and failed to produce results which formed a more perfect union, established justice, insured domestic tranquility and so on. Suffrage was earned by being a discharged veteran of Federal service. The philosophical underpinnings was that veterans had demonstrated by their...

Updated Electoral College Map

Updated Electoral College Map

More good news for Governor Romney: as I write this, Rasmussen has Romney up 2 in Ohio for the first time.   Since our last update, Michigan has now moved into the tossup column and Minnesota is moving within the margin of error. Polls show Obama’s lead there to be in between 3 and 5 points. Nevada is still a toss up even though there is conflicting talk as to whether Nevada is worth fighting for. Romney’s lead is growing in Florida, Virginia, and Colorado. The Obama camp is now having to fight rumors that they are giving up on those states. Polls are still uncomfortably close in Oregon and Connecticut. That portends well for Linda McMahon in the Senate race. I plan to have one more update before Election Day.   Electoral College Map  ...
