On Liberal Christians

Posted by on Feb 24, 2014 in Faith | 1 comment

Is there such a thing as a “liberal Christian?” A question like that may sound like a joke, but it is quite serious, with profound implications for millions of professed Christians. Is it possible to be both Christian and a liberal/progressive? Let’s talk a bit about basic theology. Jesus came to Earth for one reason only: to give us a way out of eternal condemnation. God knew that the way He had his people atone for their sins, through endless animal sacrifice, would never cut it in the end. People sinned too much and had finite resources and patience for the sacrifices. So Jesus, through his sacrifice, created a...

Margaret Sanger’s Dream Come True: Eugenics by Abortion

Posted by on Feb 22, 2014 in Faith, Politics | 0 comments

By Tami Jackson   Margaret Sanger might not be a familiar household name…but it should be.   Sanger was a nurse and a birth control advocate in the early 20th century. But more importantly, she formed the organization, American Birth Control League, which would eventually become Planned Parenthood. And like the modern day organization, cloaking its true agenda in palatable verbiage such as “family planning” and “choice,” Margaret’s goal was far more evil than the respectable facade she presented. Sanger waged a crusade for legal and safe contraceptives, and for legal and safe abortions. The Left and Planned Parenthood would have you believe she was a paragon, an angel of mercy for women...

Peruta v. San Diego: How did we get here?

Posted by on Feb 14, 2014 in Guns, Politics | 0 comments

Today’s decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in the Peruta v. San Diego case may become a watershed moment for concealed carry advocates in the Golden State.   Progressive politicians here are now scrambling to select the correct course of action that will allow them to preserve what has been one of the most anti-gun bureaucracies in the country. But the truth is, the predicament they have found themselves in is entirely of their own making. God bless our idiot state legislators in California who, in their infinite wisdom, decided to outlaw unloaded open-carry of firearms because a few open-carry advocates basically baited them into doing so....

Rebuttal to Another ‘Why Won’t the Social Conservatives Just Shut Up?’ Post

Posted by on Feb 13, 2014 in Art & Culture, Politics | 0 comments

By Bryan Preston   So, I have to respond to this. Gently.   My friend Roger Simon writes that social conservatives are the only thing that can “save liberalism.” Social conservatives should just accept the wisdom of coastal, unchurched 18 year olds and surrender our core beliefs. Surrender on marriage, and allow it to be redefined by people who harbor nothing but contempt for the institution. It’s a recurring theme among a certain set within the larger conservative-libertarian movement. Shut up and surrender, they explain. Where do the surrenders end? Those who share the shut-up sentiment never say. They just tell social conservatives to shut up already and give up...
