Why Americans should demand health saving accounts

by Matt McCord, M.D. (reprint with permission from The Detroit News)   As a practicing doctor and health care administrator, I witness the shortcomings of the delivery of health care every day. While we arguably have the most sophisticated and advanced medical care in the world, our delivery of that care leaves much to be desired. Just about everyone has a personal story about delayed treatments, care denials, or worse, bankruptcies, from lack of insurance. I would argue that this is because the middlemen (the government, insurers and hospitals) have controlled this industry for decades and the two most...

Conservative 2.0: social media’s effect on the conservative movement and white is so critical to everything we do

A week ago Sunday evening I had the opportunity to speak with Tamara Jackson on my radio show. Tamara is an active blogger and user of social media networks for the Conservative Cause. Her website is read by hundreds of conservatives on a daily basis. (www.tribblenews.com) She is an avid tweeter and Facebook user. She encourages all those in the conservative movement to engage in social media daily. Since early 2010, I have been spreading the exact same message. For the Conservatives to win, it is critical that we use social media to our advantage. Social media consists of...

Happy Day! Tax Returns!

Mitt Romney released his 2011 tax returns this week. I have never been more excided. I can count about 2,768 more things out there more interesting than his tax return. But people are interested in it, so let it be news. I had a conversation with someone the other day via the comment section on FaceBook. A mutual friend posted a new meme about Romney’s 47% speech/gaffe/who/cares. The picture was one of Romney (at his most unflattering) and it stated: “Complains about the 47% not paying income taxes. Makes $20 million a year and doesn’t pay income taxes.”...

ConservativeLA Radio 9/28/12

The upcoming ConservativeLA Radio show (on Duane FM in the Hughniverse, Friday, 9/28, 7:00 Pacific/10:00 Eastern) will be comprised of songs by, about or otherwise concerning No Depression. No Depression was a fine music magazine, now defunct, that focused on (per the magazine’s motto) “Alt-country, whatever that is.” No Depression is also a genre designation more or less consistent with the aforementioned motto. The term No Depression harkens back to an old Carter Family song. Artists featured on Friday’s show have graced the cover of No Depression over time, primarily during the first half of the magazine’s run....

The Great MSM End-Run

It seems the Main Stream Media (MSM) grows more raucous and unstable by the day, using route after route  in the Obama “Forward” playbook. Once upon a time in America, journalists and news anchors had a semblance of objectivity, and knew their role was to hold everyone’s feet to the fire. Marv Olasky called it the “…fly-on-the-wall, humble journalism that did exist in some newsrooms” and it was inspired by Walter Williams’ “The Journalists Creed”. The notion of a Dan Rather or Christiane Amanpour or Jay Carney reciting, “I believe that the journalism which succeeds best — and best deserves success...
