On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh defended capitalism in a way few can.

This inspired monologue came while railing against Washington Post columnist Michael Gerson writing that the GOP needs to champion a “new kind of capitalism” that “works for everyone.” But as Rush says quite bluntly, it can’t. Capitalism is not unique in that regard. While no economic system can work for everyone, capitalism works for the greater number of people. There is no economic system that creates the kinds of incentives necessary for prosperity like capitalism.

As Walter Williams says:

“Capitalism is relatively new in human history. Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering, and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man.”
