Frank Pastore, the former major league baseball pitcher who became a popular Christian radio show host, has died.

Southern California radio station KKLA said that Pastore died Monday, nearly a month after he was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. He was 55.

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports Pastore had been in a coma since a car collided with his motorcycle on Nov. 19 on Interstate 210 in Duarte. He was on his way home from work at KKLA at the time of the accident.

Pastore was a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds from 1979 until 1985 and for the Minnesota Twins in 1986.

He’s survived by a wife, Gina, son, Frank Jr. and daughter, Christina.
