The show has two sources: Pure Genius: The Complete Atlantic Recordings 1952-1959, an incredible eight disc box set released in 2005; and the first episode from the 2005 BBC documentary series Soul Deep. The show is not intended to be comprehensive, chronological, or any suchlike.
