Politico is reporting that CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson is resigning from the network.

From the Politico:

Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said.

She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

At the same time, Attkisson’s own reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting.

She is currently at work on a book — tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington” — which addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the Obama administration.

Attkisson is known for her reporting on Obama administration scandals such as the TARP bailout, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, and Solyndra. She’s been with CBS News since 1993, where she has developed a reputation for strong investigative work and being critical of members of both political parties.

Sharyl has also won five Emmys for her work, so she is no slouch when it comes to reporting.

In a media climate where the vast majority of the players put their thumbs on the scale to protect the Left, Attkinson has been a lighthouse of integrity. She’s not afraid to get the story, regardless of which side doesn’t like the facts…something that is all-too-rare in American journalism today.

This will be a massive loss for CBS, whether they are willing to acknowledge it or not.

Where Sharyl Attkisson goes next from here is anybody’s guess.
