How to use your own e-mail account and fool (most) everybody into thinking you are complying with company/government policy

How to use your own e-mail account and fool (most) everybody into thinking you are complying with company/government policy

As a person who managed e-mail servers on multiple platforms for more than 15 years, I have become accustomed to hearing from end-users that they don’t like the systems I have provided.   Some people just grumble. Others actively look for ways to avoid using it. Usually it involves the end-user putting their own convenience over conformity. So when the revelations about Hillary Clinton rolling her own mail server and domain surfaced, I was not surprised at all. The only thing that surprised me is the lengths she went to hide her system from oversight. In the corporate world, I witnessed employees doing what Hillary did every day. And despite company policies, you could get away with whatever you wanted as long as you had the juice. When Blackberrys fell out of favor, many people in my company bought iPhones and iPads and brought them to work. The IT department got numerous requests to connect them to the corporate mail system. And while there were solutions for connecting iPhones,...

Horse Sense at the Arivaca Boys Ranch

Horse Sense at the Arivaca Boys Ranch

If you want to help kids, don’t join a grievance-mongering protest group and campaign for social justice – just help the kids. That’s what Ron Searle did, when he started the non-profit Arivaca Boys Ranch. Ron had worked with young men for over 20 years as a teacher, in church-related and Boy Scout activities. More recently, he had been developing a therapeutic program for kids, involving the care of horses. Risky as it was to leave his profession; Searle’s heart drove him to develop this program, and to implement it in a ranch setting for young men. Several years ago, Ron received funding, and began looking for a ranch location. He ended up procuring some land in Arivaca, Arizona. Only a couple miles north of the Mexican border, miles off the closest highway, the cattle ranch comprised about 350 acres. With his partners, he built up the facilities, and set to work. These days, there are a couple-dozen boys staying at Arivaca at any given time. Altogether so far, Ron and his...

A Thanksgiving Story: Don’t Fall Prey to Progressive Sin!

A Thanksgiving Story: Don’t Fall Prey to Progressive Sin!

“How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? He’d chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could if a woodchuck could chuck wood.” I know it’s an old tongue-twister, but there’s a lesson to be learned here – and it’s not a mind twister. Some people – e.g. LEFTISTS – will never be satisfied no matter how much you give them. They will always find a way to want, to need, to deserve more of what you have. They will always want you keep less and use less of whatever they deem you ought to sacrifice. Having stuff and using stuff is the original progressive sin. I couldn’t help but notice this over Thanksgiving. It was a good day – I ignored all of Obama’s crap for the whole day. You know, there was a time when I went months or years without ever having to think of the federal government. It didn’t interfere much, back then. Good times, good times. Anyway, Thanksgiving morning,...

Politics at Thanksgiving? Are you mad?

Politics at Thanksgiving? Are you mad?

Today is Getaway Day for the Thanksgiving holiday and as I search the internet, I’m seeing a lot of articles on how to talk about politics at the Thanksgiving table.   As I think about all of the political arguments my family has engaged in when we assemble for Thanksgiving, the only response I have to these articles is, why? What idiot decided that we need to bog down an otherwise happy time with discussions about Obamacare, the Federal Reserve, the war in Iraq, and riots in Ferguson? What half-wit decided that a day dedicated to thanking Almighty God for all His abundant blessings should be interrupted by arguments about heteronormativity, heterocisnormativity, and rape culture? Why should we poison the day by purposefully seeking topics to bring up that will take everyone’s blood pressure up a few degrees? And of course most of these articles are written by sniveling, condescending Leftists who perpetually tell themselves they have a monopoly on intellect and morality. IF you don’t believe me, take...

Book Review: “Assault and Flattery”

Book Review: “Assault and Flattery”

In the modern era, the Democrat Party and the American Left have claimed to be the champions of “women’s rights.” We are told that the Republican Party and the American Right are misogynists who are actively engaged in a “war on women.” We are constantly hearing the Left engaging in histrionics to convince women that Republicans hate women. But as a new book explains, the real war on women is being waged by the American Left. Katie Pavlich, news editor at Townhall Magazine and contributor at FOX News, has authored Assault and Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women, which blows the lid off the Left’s fraudulent narrative. Pavlich has done the yeoman’s work here, taking a two-by-four to the Left’s incredible sham of posing as advocates for the fairer sex while they sanctimoniously defend rapists, lechers, and in one case, a woman’s death. Pavlich takes apart the Left’s claims about being the protectors of women one by one. She goes through the history of how...

A Case for America the Movie

A Case for America the Movie

Last week I went to see Dinesh D’Souza’s America: Imagine the World Without Her and I am right now advising everyone to take the time to see it.   In it, D’Souza takes on the Left’s baseless and one-sided claims about America: to hear the Left’s version of history, America is a nation built on racism, sexism, classism, and imperialism. In less than two hours, D’Souza lays waste to these absolute absurd charges leveled against the United States. It’s worth noting that D’Souza actually lets the Left lay out their case against America in their own words. This is a noted contrast to how the Left does things. With Progressives’ representations of such a narrative, they set up a field of strawmen, call it the “conservative position,” douse said strawmen with gasoline, set them on fire. And then claim they won the argument. D’Souza is clearly smarter than that, because he allows noted Leftists like Bill Ayers, Ward Churchill, and Michael Eric Dyson free rein to make their case, and then...
